One time, I visited Sapporo in Hokkaido on my business trip. At that time, I took that opportunity to visit Asahikawa, because there was a memorial museum of a Christian author, Ayako Miura.
There was a two-storied building built in the forest, the books of Miura were packed in the display bookshelves. Also, her lecture video clips were shown on a screen constantly. Even during a weekday, there were lots of visitors which indicated that the museum was quite a popular and an influential one. It must touch people’s heart, because the most of her 77 years of her life, she had battled against diseases. Her life was filled with suffering, yet it was also filled with assuring hope that God had given her, and that also gives peace and strength to many visitors. As I read her handwritten words and Tanka poems displayed, there was one phrase which caught my eyes.
“The rain will clear up tomorrow.”
The words not only tell about the weather, but also speak about our lives. While it is raining, it would make us feel blue, making you wonder when it would be stopping. But eventually, the rain would clear up. We are now living in the fear of the Corona Virus, yet the words also encourage us that the “rain or storm” will clear up “tomorrow.”
You may experience the rain or the storm of your life, or you may be experiencing it now. You may be feeling blue and lonely. But “the rain will clear up tomorrow.” The Bible says;
“weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)”
What are you looking at? Yourself? The problem you are facing? Or inside of yourself? Forget where you are looking now, and why don’t you look up. Yes, look to God who created you, loves you, and blesses your life. You will be overwhelmed by a joyful life.
I sincerely invite you to get to know the bible, and to visit a church.
