Due to COVID-19, we hear depressing news every day. Increasing number of infected people, epressionof economy, and people bullying each other. Many of us must feel “no more depressing news.”
Let me introduce a lady. Her name is Kane Tanaka. She holds the Guiness World Record. She is the oldest person in Japan and the world. Surprisingly, she is 117 years old, and was born in the same year that the Wright brothers flew for the first time in the world.
During the war, she had a Udon restaurant, and had 4 children. Yet, she lost 2 of them.
She suffered numerous illnesses, but she overcame those difficulties. Kane Tanaka is a Christian, andbecame a Christina several years after her husband became one. She attended the church services until the age of 103, and continues to attend the services at her care home. (Unfortunately due to the COVID-19, they are not allowed to gather for the services, now.)
Her pastor says “Kane avoids boredom by reading the Bible, playing the Othello game, and enjoys her healthy life. Singing Hymns, praying together. I remember vividly about the situation when she was looking up the sky in the early evening, and praying (by the Christian Press).” She loves chocolates and drinks Cola and other soda pops as well. She hates losing, so she plays the Othello repeatedly until make sure she wins.
(^^)
Kane Tanaka has been believing in Christ more than a half a decade, living faithful life. She still reads the Bible and prays. The Bible is her strong support. I have never met her, but I can imagine how she is.
Let me share the words of Christ. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matt. 6:34”What comforting words! It is God’s promise that whoever believe in him and putting him the first, ever needs will be provide. And it is the words of promise.
May God bless you, too.
