Unshakable foundation
How do you cope with your stress? There are many things we can do, such as listening to music, walking, or having a delicious meal. I also do these things. They may be effective in some way, but not adefinite answer. Don’t you think we need encouragement from someone?
The winter Olympic has ended the other day. There were many great impressions and excitements, but also there were many criticisms against athletes. For those athletes who could not performe as well as the public expected, they were accused as “it was your fault” or “apologize” over SNS. Most of those accusers are not even athletes or never participated in any competition. Because they can post their messages anonymously, the content of messages is awful. Those targeted athletes must be hurt badly, makes me worry that they may become unrecoverable.
Sometime, we are also hurt by rude comments or criticism. When we perform well, people may be kind to us. But, once our performance starts to go down, people change. When we depend on people’s support, we would be shocked when we receive any negative reaction. It will be nice to know if there is someone who does not change based on our performance.
Fortunately, the Bible tells us that there is such being. It is the Creator who created you and me. We may make mistake from time to time, but God’s attitude does not change. He rejoices your very existence.
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! (Isaiah 49:15)”
There is a big difference whether you know him or not. A person who knows him may also get hurt, but it does not become a critical damage. Even all the people around you may against you, he is always on your side. If you have this “unshakable foundation”, you can be at rest.
