At the hot spring spa in Nagano, there are many who lost their physical abilities, and working on rehabilitation. At that spa, there is a garden stone which engraved “count not what you lost, count what you have.” This encourages those who visit there.
Recently, many of us lost various things, or not being able to do things due to the Covid-19. It is depressing. Losing something is hard for us, and making it difficult for us to accept the situation.
Some of us would look at what we have lost, and just staring at them. Some of us would make some sort of excuses, and try to ignore the reality. Or, some of us would react with anger against others.
It was when Peter went to the temple to pray. There was a crippled man begging for money to Peter. Peter said to him “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. (Act 3:6)”
There were many things Peter did not have. But, he was kept alive by “something existing” which beyond of what he had physically. The “something existing” is Jesus Christ. By knowing him, we would know we have all we need.
Are you sad now, because you have lost something? Why don’t you get to know Jesus Christ?
May God bless you.
