“I want to be reborn as myself”

Last year, the word “parent lottery” was selected as one of the top 10 buzzword awards. The idea is that life is largely determined by what kind of parent you are born with. Indeed, children are greatly influenced by their parents. No one can escape from them. However, if you are born into a family that seems unhappy, is it the only way to give up as a “losing lottery”? That’s not true.

I recently learned about the roots of Reiko Uehara. “After all, it’s wonderful to live (from Mana Books)” Uehara’s father was a U.S. soldier, but her mother left her when Uehara was only four months old, and Uehara didn’t know her father. She was raised by her relatives. “I was born by mistake.” She got into alcohol and drugs and was just in despair. But she also attends church because she studied the Bible at an American school. When she then believed in Jesus Christ and offered her prayers, she felt a sense of security and joy that she had never felt before.

Bible words touched Ms. Uehara’s injured heart. “You (God) knit me together in my mother’s womb (Psalm 139: 13).” “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me (Psalm 27:10). “” Since you are precious and honored in my (God’s) sight, and because I love you (Isaiah 43: 4). “… When touched by God’s love she realized, “No one was born in this world and was born by mistake. In any environment, God’s unconditional love is indiscriminately poured into everyone.”

Currently, Ms. Uehara is active as a singer-songwriter. Because she suffered from bullying, her songs bring comfort to those who are in various other sufferings. I was impressed by her words, “I would want to be myself if I were born again.”

If Ms. Uehara hadn’t met the Bible, she would still think she lost her parent lottery.” But there is no losing one. Even if someone has roots that seem unfortunate, God will make everything good for his benefit. Listen to God’s Word, not the buzzword, the Word of God who loves you and has great plans.
