“The Biggest Energy Problem of the 21st Century”

Do you know what the biggest energy shortage of the 21st century is concerned about? It’s not oil, it’s not nuclear. It is “water”. And we are living in a time when we are consuming more water than ever before. For example, 1 kg of rice requires 1 ton of water. Gyudon, a bowl of rice topped with beef requires 2 tons of water, and a cow requires 20 tons of water. Water is essential for modern high-tech agriculture. Experts say water scarcity is today’s biggest energy problem. The fact that the ice in the Arctic is melting due to global warming, and the speed at which it melts is still the same as in 2040, is very worrisome.

By the way, in Bible times, there was a woman who came to a well in the middle of the day, asking for “water.” Drawing water from well is usually done early in the morning, but why did she come there in the hot afternoon? It wasn’t because she had low blood pressure. She wanted to avoid being spitefully scrutinized by women if she went early in the morning, as there is a word called a meeting at the well. In fact, she had a history of many men, but she was still not satisfied and was living with a sixth man. That’s why she came during the day even though it was hot. But someone was sitting by the well where there should normally be no one. This is what he said.

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13,14).

What a wonderful word! It is said that the water that He gives will “never thirst” and enable “a way of life as if a spring springs up from him”, and from which “eternal life that overcomes even death” springs forth. Isn’t this just the solution to the biggest energy problem? And this woman got that “water” from him. That person was Jesus Christ. “Drinking water” meant believing in Jesus Christ. Over the next 2,000 years, by believing in Christ, there are people who have been given this “water of life” and have gained true energy all over the world. Wouldn’t you like to have this “water”?
